Situational Analysis of LGBTI community in Bagmati Province
Bagmati Province, Nepal, has made significant strides in recognizing and protecting the rights of gender and sexual minority people. Constitutional provisions guaranteeing equality and inclusion have been implemented, and government initiatives aim to address disparities. However, discriminatory attitudes persist, fueled by social media misinformation and a lack of public awareness. Family and community rejection, limited access to healthcare and education, and employment barriers continue to affect the well-being and quality of life of gender and sexual minority individuals. To ensure full human rights and equality, comprehensive public awareness campaigns, sensitivity training for service providers, legal strengthening, family support, workplace inclusivity, and continued advocacy efforts are needed to create a more accepting and inclusive society for all.
