Situational Analysis of LGBTI community in Sudurpaschim Province
Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal, is home to a significant number of sexual and gender minority individuals, but they continue to face marginalization and discrimination in this marginalized province. Despite their substantial presence, the LGBTI community in Sudurpaschim struggles with various issues. They are often denied their basic rights and face societal prejudices that hinder their ability to live with dignity. Recognition and acceptance of their relationships and families remain major challenges, and many are excluded from community gatherings and family functions. Lack of legal recognition of their unions and deprivation of parental property add to their vulnerabilities. To uplift the LGBTI community in Sudurpaschim, focused efforts are required to raise awareness, implement inclusive policies, and promote acceptance and equal rights for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
A dedicated team that has been tirelessly working in Sudurpaschim Province for three years, aiming to empower and uplift the LGBTI community. Although we currently lack an office, our committed focal person ensures the success of our pilot project. With a mission to create a more inclusive and accepting society, we relentlessly strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
